Our
History
FEVEST was created in 1992 by SINDVEST, the union of the clothing industry, along with entrepreneurs from the sector, to bring to Brazil and the world the fashion that has been created here since 1982. Check out a bit of the history of our hub and how it all began:
The city of Nova Friburgo is considered the largest producer of intimate fashion/lingerie in the country, according to Abit - Brazilian Association of the Textile Industry. The Nova Friburgo hub is the largest and most important lingerie hub in Latin America. With the crisis of 1982, the giants of the textile sector suffered a strong impact. The market contraction led industries to lay off a large number of employees who, as a means of survival, were responsible for laying the foundation for the fashion industry in Nova Friburgo. With the money from severance pay, the laid-off professionals invested in purchasing sewing machines and began producing pieces at home. By 1990, small and medium enterprises had established themselves as the clothing hub of Nova Friburgo.
The then fashion production hub gained notoriety quickly and in recent decades has been seen as a successful example of integration between micro, small, and medium entrepreneurs, in a well-articulated production chain with remarkable income and employment capacity. Today, it produces about 336 million pieces per year, which represents 35% of the national production of lingerie, swimwear, and fitness wear. Furthermore, it generates around 28,000 direct and indirect jobs, with 80% of the workforce and leadership of the companies represented by women. The hub also has the lowest female unemployment rate in Brazil.
Since 1992 until today, FEVEST has been growing, changing, reinventing itself, and adapting to all moments of the modern world and the current market; it is 34 years of a consolidated event in the world of fashion.
HOW WAS IT
IN 2025?

In June 2025, the FVST EXPERIENCE 2025 transformed the National Capital of Intimate Fashion into a true center of innovation, creativity, and business for the entire sector. Held at the traditional Nova Friburgo Country Club, the fair promised a complete immersion in the world of lingerie, connecting the main market players with exclusive launches and the trends that dictated the future of the sector.
With an interactive format, the FVST EXPERIENCE 2025 was not limited to a simple fashion event. Entrepreneurs, buyers, and suppliers had the opportunity to participate in a fair focused on innovation that went far beyond a traditional trade show.
HOW WILL IT BE
IN 2026?

The fair renews itself after yet another successful edition! Every detail of FVST INSPIRE 2026 has been designed to reposition the fair at a new level, more innovative, bold, and visionary, reaffirming our strength as the largest gathering in the lingerie, beachwear, fitness, and raw materials sector in Latin America. Now, with a more solid foundation, connected to the future and open to the world. More than just an event, FVST INSPIRE 2026 is the meeting point between fashion, business, and creativity, capable of generating transformative experiences. Because when fashion is inspired, new stories begin to be written, by each brand, each buyer, each person who lives the fair intensely.
